About 30 people showed up for Saturday’s event with Park City Mayor Andy Beerman, Rep. Tim Quinn and Bill White at the McPolin Farm. Melissa Allison has more:
Parkites walked, biked and drove to the McPolin Farm to sit under a tree on hay bales as they listened to Mayor Andy Beerman and invited guests Utah Rep. Tim Quinn and Bill White.
Quinn took several questions regarding liquor laws, sustainability and some even challenged his commitment to Park City.
He assured the group that while he may not agree with their choices, he firmly believes in a city’s right to govern itself, otherwise why have them, he asked.
Beerman talked about the city’s sustainability efforts and Environmental Sustainability Manager Luke Cartin said other states are watching Park City, because of the many innovative programs they’ve taken on including the electric bus program.
Bill White talked about sustainability and the myths about ranching and farming. He said educating yourself about sustainability is the most important thing you can do.
