Park City Mountain Resort Announces 2020-21 Opening Date and COVID-19 Mitigation Policies

Vail Resorts

Park City Mountain Resort Announced on Thursday morning it will be open for the winter season on Nov. 20 with a slew of health and safety requirements to keep visitors and staff safe, including a reservation system and altered dates for day passes.

Face coverings will be required in order to access the mountain and PCMR says the resort will be reimagined in order to allow for better physical distancing.

PCMR will also be managing how many people access the resort each day and will be implementing a reservation system. Reservations will be required to access the mountain and priority will be given to passholders. Vail Resorts says the reservation system will allow guests to feel safer and allow for more opportunities for physical distancing.

Passholders will have exclusive access to the mountain until Dec. 7 and regular day tickets will go on sale Dec. 8.

On-mountain regulations in addition to the mask requirement include physical distancing in lift lines and lift attendants will only be loading riders who are skiing or snowboarding in the same group.  Physical distancing will continue on the lifts themselves with two singles seated on opposite sides of a four-person lift, two singles or two doubles on opposite sides of a six-person lift, or two singles on opposite ends of the larger gondola cabins.

The ski & ride school will also require a reservation and participants will have to undergo an online self-health screening prior to arriving at the mountain. Group lessons will be limited to a maximum of six people.

Full details of PCMR’s opening plans can be found at PCMR’s website.
