Park City Singers Back With Christmas Program

Park City Singers

The Park City Singers are back with their annual Christmas program.

The Singers will be performing twice—on Sunday, December 9th, and Friday, December 14th. Both programs are at the Park City Community Church, at 7:00 pm.

The musical director, Joe Demers, and singer Renee Hall, told us their group has about 60 people, accompanied by pianist Tracy Taylor. Demars talked about the material in this year’s program.

“I come up with a variety of different suggestions and then we meet together with the board and we talk about what’s been done recently, what’s new and what we can integrate. Both secular and sacred in the music that we choose. It’s more or less a joint decision. We try to stretch and challenge a little bit the singers and then provide the different opportunities for the community to hear some different holiday music.”

We asked both Demars and Hall to pick the most challenging selection in the program.

“For me I think as a director it “what sweeter music” was probably the most challenging for us.” Demars answered, Hall chimed in “I know that one has been a challenge in the past. I think it’s sounding fantastic this year, I’m very pleased. There’s another one that I think is just gorgeous but the “Jesu Son, most sweet and dear” is simply fabulous. That one is one that has both a vocal soloist and the harp solo. That’s another one that has come together beautifully. That would be a little on the challenging side as well but its come together in a fantastic way.”

You can get tickets at the Smith’s at Kimball Junction or here.
