Park City Will Host a Spring Projects Open House on Tuesday

Park City Municipal will be hosting a spring projects open house on Tuesday.

The event is scheduled to be from 5-6:30pm at the Park City Library Patio outside Lucky Ones Coffee. An indoor option is also being planned in case of bad weather.

The event will be socially-distanced and will also be available on Facebook Live for people who want to participate virtually.

Park City Community Engagement Liaison Lynn Ware Peek said although the city can no longer require masks at the event due to the pandemic “endgame” legislation, city staff will be masked and the public is strongly encouraged to be as well.

Peek says the format will be casual with various city staffers stationed at tables around the venue available to answer questions on the various projects.

For those participating on Facebook live, they’ll get a little taste of everything.

“We’ll just take a camera and stream live on Facebook and one of us will go around really briefly and explain all of the projects,” she said. “It’s going to be a cursory view to give people who are at home and just want to watch virtually an idea of what we’re doing.”

Several city projects and initiatives will be featured, including how to bring more affordable and attainable housing to Park City, an update on the 3Kings Water treatment facility, upcoming public art projects, ice arena renovations and events, summer recreation and special event opportunities, and details on transportation in Park City and this summer’s services.

A table dedicated to the proposed contaminated soil project, also called the Gordo property, will also be part of the open house.

Details on UDOT projects on 248, I-80, US40, and the HI Ute Ranch are also on the agenda.

In addition to featuring 2021’s city projects, refreshments will be offered by the Lucky Ones Coffee Trailer, live acoustic music will be provided by Mel Soul, and the PC MARC mobile trailer will also make an appearance.

The open house is scheduled for Tuesday May 11th from 5:00-6:30pm at the Park City Library Patio and is available on Facebook live on the City Government of Park City Facebook page.
