Residents Speak Out Against Huge I-80 Noise Wall

UDOT

The group Citizens Against the Wall is asking Utah Gov. Gary Herbert to stop the noise wall project planned along the west side of Interstate Highway 80 until the criteria that the Utah Department of Transportation used in its decision-making process to build the wall can be investigated.

UDOT plans to build a climbing lane for trucks on westbound I-80 near Jeremy ranch next month. The agency claims the additional lane will cause increased noise and that an 18-foot by 3,200-foot barrier should be built to protect some of the homes along that portion of the highway.
