Project for Deeper Understanding - Prop 2 segment 1
Will Utah voters approve medical marijuana this year? Proposition 2, the Medical Cannabis Initiative, is on the ballot. The Park City Area Project for Deeper Understanding has compiled a panel of experts on all sides of the issue to discuss the matter & answer audience questions: Marty Stephens, the Director of Government Affairs for the LDS Church, Rep. Brad Daw, (R-Orem), who drafted Utah's current medical marijuana law, Nathan Frodsham, a chronic-pain patient who supported Prop 2, but changed his mind, Jessica Reade Gleim, another chronic pain patient who credits medical marijuana with freeing her from other meds, and allowing her to have a child, Doug Rice with the Utah Patients Coalition, which has been lobbying for medical marijuana for several years, Dr. Mark Blair with the Utah Medical Association, which opposes Prop 2, and Dr. Andrew Talbott, an anesthesiologist, who advocates medical marijuana as an effective pain reliever. The forum took place Thursday, September 20, 2018, from 7pm - 9pm at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Park City, Utah. KPCW reporter Carolyn Murray is the moderator.
