The mysteries of dark matter.

Theoretical physicist Kathryn Zurek of Caltech discusses her Scientific American article, “Dark Matter Might Lurk in Its Own Shadow World.”

Dark matter surrounds and passes through us constantly, but it’s incredibly difficult to detect. Decades of experiments have turned up no results on what the particle is, prompting new theories — like Zurek’s proposed “Hidden Valley,” a parallel dark sector with its own particles and forces.
