Local musician, writer and poet Rick Gerber discusses his lifelong dedication to storytelling through novels, poetry and over 300 original songs. He reflects on his creative process, wild performance venues — including Sturgis and Moab — and how teaching music to students from ages 5 to 70 has become one of his most fulfilling roles.

Rick also opens up about his journey to sobriety and how it’s reshaped his lifestyle and priorities. The episode features two original in-studio performances: the road-weary ballad “Carolina Bound” and the reflective pandemic-era track “Last Time Around.”
