The winner United States' Lauren Macuga celebrates with the team after an alpine ski, women's World Cup super G race, in St. Anton, Austria, Sunday, Jan. 12, 2025.

More than 20 athletes will represent the U.S. Ski Team at the 2025 FIS Alpine World Ski Championship in Austria.

Two Utahns are part of the 21-skier roster, including Park City’s Lauren Macuga and Jared Goldberg from Holladay.

This will be Macuga’s first World Championship competition. The 22-year-old claimed her first World Cup win in super-G this season.

Goldberg and Olympic silver medalist Ryan Chochran-Siegle headline the men’s team with their podium performances this season in Italy.

Also on the roster are Mikaela Shiffrin, who just competed in her first race back since a November injury, and Lindsey Vonn who has recently come out of retirement.

The competition in Saalbach, Austria will also feature a new event – the team combined. In it, two athletes, one downhill, one slalom, race for a combined fastest time.

Racing begins Tuesday, Feb. 4 and runs through Feb. 16.
