Park visitors found Matthew Nannen, 45, and Bailee Crane, 58, dead April 29 below Inspiration Point, a popular lookout spot.
The Salt Lake Tribune reports it is unclear when and how they fell.

Recovery crews also found a 12-year-old female tabby cat had survived that fall in a soft-sided carrier.
The cat was taken to a Panguitch boarding facility before the Garfield County Sheriff's Office contacted Best Friends Animal Society to help April 30.
Best Friends said the cat they are calling Mirage weathered the fall.
Her bloodwork came back normal while the group awaits x-rays to see if Mirage has broken bones or other injuries.
As Mirage heals, Best Friends said it will search for the couple’s relatives who may want to adopt her before looking for others who could provide her forever home.
The Garfield County Sheriff's Office said the couple had crossed safety railings atop Inspiration Point before the fall.
Deputies said the pair had been living in a U-Haul truck at the time of their deaths and their last known address was in Florida.
