Car crash downs utility poles, leaves thousands of Parkites without power

Google Maps

A crash on Old Ranch Road over the weekend left thousands without power.

The Summit County Sheriff’s Office told KPCW high school-aged teens driving a Tesla crashed into a power pole near 970 Old Ranch Road around 11:30 p.m. Saturday.

Deputies say heavy fog and slick roads led to the crash that took down two power poles.

No one was hurt and the teens were released to their parents.

Deputies closed the road through Sunday morning as Rocky Mountain Power repaired the downed utility poles.

Power was restored for the 2,800 customers affected by Sunday afternoon.
