The fourth annual event has a new location this year; it’s being held at Loomis Park at 6530 Silver Creek Dr. in Silver Creek Village on Saturday, May 31 from noon to 4 p.m.
Summit County Stormwater Manager Kelsey Christiansen said families are encouraged to come out and enjoy the fun while learning about important issues.
“We want to reach out about topics such as sustainability, noxious weeds, public lands, stormwater.” Christiansen said.
The first 50 people to show up will get a voucher for a free lunch from Savory Kitchen. For those who come later, food and beverages, including beer from Offset Bier, will be available for purchase.
Everyone who helps with the cleanup will have a chance to win a prize.
“Blue Sky has been our biggest supporter of the band,” Christiansen said. “But we've got a lot of great prizes. We've got two GA's (general admission tickets) to the Song Summit, some golf at Promontory and Park City municipal, and Park City Yoga Collective. Just come participate and you can maybe win some good prizes.”
As part of the day’s education outreach efforts, local organizations will be on hand to share information. Participants include Basin Recreation, Recycle Utah, and the noxious weeds department.
Summit County Library will be setting up a kids’ reading corner and Summit County Bike Share will be on hand with some e-bikes to ride and season pass giveaways.
The band this year is The Last Mile Buffalo. Event attendees are encouraged to ride the bus or bike as parking is limited.
