[UPDATE] Photos of the two suspects was removed at the request of the Summit County Sheriff's Office after they received credible information that they could be under 18 years old.

The Summit County Sheriff's Office is looking to identify two men who are responsible for a home burglary in the Promontory area. The burglary took place during the day and even as the homeowners were inside.

The Summit County Sheriff’s Department is finding ways to provide community centric policing during a time when many residents are feeling isolated and distant from friends and neighbors.


Park City Superintendent Jill Gildea has filed an incident report with the Sheriff’s Office over vandalism at her home in Jeremy Ranch. The report comes a week after the alleged incident occurred on Oct. 31.

Summit County Sheriff’s Lt. Andrew Wright says Superintendent Jill Gildea filed the report Friday, Nov. 8.

"We are happily investigating this to figure out what exactly happened, and we want the community to know that we are taking any report seriously," Wright said. "We will do our best to figure out what happened."

The Summit County Sheriff's Department captured a wanted fugitive near Oakley on Sunday night. David Boyle reports:

The Summit County Sheriff's Office recently added two hybrid vehicles to its fleet. Sheriff Justin Martinez says they will use less fuel, which in turn will reduce their carbon footprint and advance the county's strategic plan. Rick Brough has more.
