While Wasatch County’s latest health order has opened up state parks to non-county residents the county and the parks are discouraging out of county visitors.

As part of Governor Gary Herbert’s mandate to the state Utah’s state parks are still open, but only to residents of the county the park is located in. That means Wasatch County residents cannot visit Summit County parks and Summit County residents cannot visit Wasatch County parks. 

Wiper, like the one posted, are among the fish available in the Wasatch Mountain State Park community pond. The pond has lifted the daily bag limit from two to unlimited from now through the end of the year

Anglers who visit the Wasatch Mountain State Park community pond usually can bring home just two fish at the end of the day. Thanks to a recent change, there’s now no limit to the fish you can bag from the pond from now until the end of the year.


With a mandate to make Utah's State Parks more self-sufficient, a daily recreation use fee has been imposed at Wasatch Mountain State Park. Leslie Thatcher has more.
