Bluth, who represents the Heber South portion of the school district, told KPCW Tuesday, Jan. 28, he’s stepping down from the school board. He said he and his family are moving elsewhere in the city.
To be eligible for office, elected officials must live within the boundaries they represent.
Bluth began his term in 2022. He says he’s proud of helping pilot the efforts to bring a second high school in the county.
He said his time serving on the school board has been rewarding.
“Wonderful people that I’ve been associated with,” he said. “Nothing but respect for the things that we have achieved and how our student achievement has multiplied tenfold. It’s been a very satisfying time for me, but it’s now time to move on.”
Bluth said he will officially step down at the end of February.
The district will accept applications to fill his spot. The school board will choose his replacement.
