First Annual Central Wasatch Symposium - January 9 & 10, 2025

The first annual Central Wasatch Symposium is a conference event that will bring together the various interests and stakeholders in the Central Wasatch for two days of expert panels, interactive workshops, and networking focused on the stewardship of the Central Wasatch Mountains.

The event will begin on January 9th, 2025 at 10:00am with a keynote address from award-winning author, environmentalist, and activist Terry Tempest Williams. Presenters will include the US Forest Service, Salt Lake City Public Utilities, Save Our Canyons, the Utah Division of Outdoor Recreation, former US Representative and former Salt Lake County Mayor Ben McAdams, former Salt Lake City mayor Ralph Becker, and more.

The Central Wasatch Commission is an interlocal government entity that is dedicated to protecting the Central Wasatch region by focusing on transportation, recreation, conservation, and the economy. Our organization focuses on both the Wasatch front and back and we want to promote the Central Wasatch Symposium to community members in Park City and Summit County. The topics discussed at this event directly affect and relate to people living in the Wasatch back and the desire to conserve beloved mountains.
