Sunday COVID-19 Update: State Reaches 50 Fatalities

The Utah Department of Health released new numbers Sunday afternoon about COVID-19 in the state. One more person has died in Utah, bringing the number of fatalities attributed to COVID-19 in the state to 50. There are 5,175 confirmed COVID-19 cases, up 194, or approximately 3.7%, from Saturday.

Summit County has 376 cases, one more than Saturday. The number of hospitalizations in the county remains at thirty-three. Wasatch County has 159 confirmed cases, up three from Saturday. Hospitalizations in Wasatch remain at seven.

Salt Lake County has the most confirmed cases in the state at 2,707. Utah County has the second most cases in the state with 1,073. Summit County has the third most. 436 people have been hospitalized statewide.

UDOH estimates 2,283 people have recovered from COVID-19. 122,102 people have been tested for the virus.
