An anonymous phone call came in to the Park City Police Easter Sunday evening, reporting a bomb threat targeting the upper Main Street area. According to Police Chief Wade Carpenter, police the immediate area threatened reached from approximately 350 Main Street to the top of the street. The caller only gave a general location, Carpenter added, and efforts focused on the area around Wasatch Brew Pub and Treasure Mountain Inn.

Foot and vehicular traffic were evacuated from the area down to the 500 block on Park Avenue, Main Street and Park Avenue and police cordoned off Swede Alley and set up a staging area behind the post office. Police told shops and restaurants in the area to empty out and close doors.
By approximately 8 PM, police were requiring a mandatory evacuation of all buildings, according to Egyptian Theater Manager Randy Barton. The historic theater did not have a show on stage tonight, but Barton, who is also an employee of KPCW, was there in the office. He said he tried to watch the proceedings from the marquee, but was spotted and told to go in, before eventually being ordered to leave.

Officers from Park City, Summit County Sheriff, Wasatch County Sheriff and Utah Highway patrol were among the uniforms seen on the scene.
