Responders Put Out Fire Near Deer Creek Over The Weekend

Wasatch County Sheriff's Office

First responders dealt with a fire in Wasatch County this weekend near the Deer Creek Reservoir.

Wasatch County Fire and Wasatch County Sheriff’s office report the fire burned a total of 57 acres over the weekend.

The brush fire was reported at 3:00 pm Saturday afternoon, near the intersection of State Highways 189 and 113. That’s in the Charleston area. Highway 189 was temporarily closed in both directions but was open again by Saturday night.

The blaze drew up to 50 firefighters, plus assistance from the Wasatch County EMS, U.S. Forest Service, Utah Highway Patrol, and Utah State Parks.

The Sheriff’s office reported that crews were mopping up the fire line to make sure there was not any heat on the outer edges of the blaze. They said Sunday night that they had dismissed their air assists and decreased the number of fire personnel.
