A fire on Thursday morning destroyed the “Bumps n Grinds” coffee shop at the base of Park City Mountain Resort.
Fire crews responded to reports of smoke in the village of Park City Mountain Resort just before 6:30 Thursday morning. Unfortunately, according to Park City Police Captain Phil Kirk, the internal structure of the Bumps n Grinds coffee shop was destroyed by the time the flames were able to be extinguished.
The cause of the blaze is still under investigation and no other structures were damaged.
A GoFundMe page for the shop was created later on Thursday with a goal of raising $30,000 to bring back the small shack to the base of the mountain. As of this report, just under $9,000 has been raised.
According to the shop’s Facebook page, Bumps n Grinds was founded in 2002 and is a ‘ski bum owned and operated locals favorite for some of the best coffee drinks in Park City.’
