Utah saw more than a 30% drop in daily COVID-19 cases since last Wednesday.
The Utah Department of Health announced 901 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday, which is about 400 fewer cases than the state saw at the same time last week.
There were 7,063 people tested for the first time, with 20,286 total tests administered. About 6% of “tests over tests” are coming back positive.
Summit County reported 10 new cases. In comparison, last Wednesday, Summit saw 14.

Wasatch County reported 18 new cases. Last Wednesday, the county saw 16.

Utah’s Department of Health reported 10 new deaths but noted that six of the deaths were from before Feb. 1. To date, 1,806 Utahns have died due to COVID-19, including eight from Summit County and 19 from Wasatch County.
The department also reported 55 new hospitalizations. There are 263 people in the hospital for COVID-19, in the state. Statewide, around 77% of referral center ICU beds are in use, which is up from Tuesday.
A reported, 18,083 people were vaccinated for COVID-19 since Tuesday, bringing the total number to 551,063 doses administered.
