Park City Mountain Resort’s operations were briefly interrupted on Tuesday.
Just after 10:30 Tuesday morning, the lifts at PCMR were at a standstill due to a power outage.
Some resort guests vented their frustrations about the lift stoppage on social media, using angry emoji and the hashtag “refund.”
Thankfully, about 40 minutes later, PCMR announced that lifts were coming back online and the mountain would resume normal operations.
Rocky Mountain Power’s online outage dashboard did show a brief scheduled outage for the PCMR area on Tuesday, but reported no other outage incidents in Park City at that time.
A spokesperson for Rocky Mountain Power told KPCW the scheduled outage was for new equipment installation along Three Kings Drive and that affected customers were notified of the outage on February 8th.
Rock Mountain Power did not specify whether PCMR was one of the affected customers, but a resort resort representative told KPCW they did not receive direct notification of the outage from the power company.
The representative did say PCMR operations were briefly interrupted by that outage Tuesday morning.
