Park City’s Wyatt Pike Advances to Next Round of American Idol

Wyatt Pike

Park City Local Wyatt Pike has advanced on ABC’s American Idol.

The 19-year-old performed a duet of Alex Clare’s ‘Too Close’ with fellow contestant Cassandra Coleman on Monday’s duet challenge episode.

Pike and Coleman were praised for their performance and on-stage chemistry.

Judge Katy Perry commended Pike for making his singing partner feel safe after she experienced a bout of strong nerves earlier in the competition.

“Wyatt, you made Cassandra feel really safe,” Perry said. “You weren’t gonna run without her and that is what a duet does. You run together.”

Fellow Judge and country music star Luke Bryan told both Wyatt and Coleman they would be moving on to the next round, which airs on Sunday night at 8/7central on ABC.
