Hideout Annexation Referendum Underway

KPCW News

Ballots for the June 22 Hideout annexation referendum are being mailed to registered voters now.

The vote is set to settle a controversial issue: whether the small Wasatch County town will annex a large plot of land in Summit County east of Park City.

Residents of Hideout who are unsure if they are registered to vote or if their voter registration is current can verify their registration status, update their address, or register to vote online at the state of Utah's website.

A current Utah driver’s license is required to complete the registration process or update your address online. If you do not have a license and you wish to vote, you must pick up a voter registration form from the Hideout Town Clerk's Office, the Wasatch County Clerk's Office in Heber City or online at Hideout’s website.

The deadline to register is set for Friday, June 11.

When returning the ballot, the ballot envelope must be postmarked no later than Monday, June 21. Voters can also drop off their ballot off in-person at the Hideout Town Hall building, during regular its business hours from 8:30 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

Hideout Town Hall will be open on Election Day from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. for voters wishing to drop their ballot off in person, or who need assistance due to issues like a missed registration deadline or lost ballot. You must have a photo ID and proof of residency to get a ballot.

For questions, call Hideout Town Clerk Alicia Fairbourne at 435-640-2188 or email her at afairbourne@hideoututah.gov.
