In a statement Wednesday Wawra said she needs to focus on her recovery after suffering a stroke last May.
She has led Park City’s recycling center for over seven years.
Wawra said she will remain on staff at Recycle Utah to help support the nonprofit.
Recycle Utah board member Jim Bedell, who has been working with Wawra since 2022, will assume the leadership position as general manager.
