Camp Gloss, a summer-camp program for girls, returns for another year, offering health and wellness in a fun curriculum.

One of the two therapists who founded the program, Jessica Werner, said that Gloss stands for Grit-Leadership-Opportunity-Self-and Service.

She said the program is aimed at girls, 11 to 16.

They are offering two-day camps. One at Solitude Resort runs from July 15th to the 19th. The other, at the Blair Education Center near Quinn’s Junction, is August 5th to the 9th.

Werner said that working with her co-founders, Christian Fritze, and a couple of other counselors, they take on 16 girls a week. She said it goes beyond the usual camp experience.

“We offer the traditional fun of summer camp, like hiking and swimming and those sort of outdoor activities. We’re also entirely offline. We spend a lot of time talking about wellness, experiential learning, community, self-care. We really have the goal of helping girls gain these essential self-care skills that will help them to be the most successful and happy versions of themselves. So we add an element of wellness.”

The cost is $375 a week, though there are five scholarships available for each camp, at $40 each. The camp session runs from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. For more information, you can click here.
