From Climbing the Corporate Ladder to the World's Tallest Peaks, Vanessa O'Brien Shares Her Story

On The Mountain Life, Pete and Lynn welcome Vanessa O’Brien.

O'Brien is the first American woman to summit K2 and the author of the new book, To the Greatest Heights: Facing Danger, Finding Humility, and Climbing a Mountain of Truth.

Armed with a MBA and a wry sense of humor, O’Brien climbed the corporate ladder to great success, but after the 2009 economic meltdown, her career went into a tailspin. She searched for a new purpose and settled on an unlikely goal: climbing the tallest peaks in the world.

Pete Stoughton is the Brand Relations Manager at Trail and Ultra Running as well as the Director of Programs at CCPC. Basically, he is the behind the scenes guy at TAUR. When he's not getting his TAUR on, or running 2-3,000 miles a year. His own personal running ranges from 100 mile races to track workouts. Nevertheless, a scenic run with friends is were he finds inner peace.
