The Park City Hospital has implemented visitor restrictions for an undetermined length of time, to protect its staff and patients against COVID-19.
Intermountain Healthcare began restricting visitors to its network of facilities Monday. The policy is based on guidelines from the Utah Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and includes restrictions to hospitals, outpatient clinics, InstaCares and physician offices.
IHC’s policy includes:
-Preventing those who are sick from entering a facility, unless they’re seeking care themselves
-No visitors to patients who are confirmed to have or possibly have COVID-19
-Only two visitors per patient at a time
-Individuals under 18 are discouraged from visiting
-IHC requests that visitors wash or sanitize hands before and after entering or leaving a room and facility
The Park City Hospital also asked groups that had events scheduled at the Blair Education Center to reconsider them. IHC Communications Specialist Holly Nelson says there are about 20 events that were planned at the Blair Education Center that are being relocated or rescheduled.
There are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 at Park City Hospital. However, the Utah Department of Health confirmed a second case in Utah Tuesday in the Weber-Morgan health district. The patient is older than 60 and is being treated at Intermountain McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden.
