Park City Singers Recruiting New Voices

Park City Singers

It’s not too late to join the Park City Singers and be a part of their holiday concerts.

The Park City Singers are looking for singers to join in their two holiday shows Dec. 8th and the 13th. Rehearsals started this week and will continue  up every Tuesday evening at 7 between now and then.

Group organizer Renee Hall asks that you come early next Tuesday to register at the Park City Community Church.

“You will want to bring $45 for the season’s membership and we will provide you with the music packets and CDs for learning the music,” Hall said.

Musical Director Joe Demers says the CDs they provide will help you learn the words and your choral part.

“With the help of the CDs  - that helps a lot,” Demers said. I” have some friends who record the soprano part, the alto part, and then I do the tenor and the bass. So, when I send out the CDs, they can hear their part predominately with the other 3 parts in the background. So, they can still hear how it fits together.”

He adds they are short of tenor and bass singers – so are looking for more men to join them. There are no tryouts  - just a willingness to practice and improve.

“And you do not need to necessarily have a trained voice, said Demers.  “We have people in the group that have sung in college choirs and they haven’t sung   for a long time and they do something they want to do and it’s a community choir  and so we just encourage anybody who wants to come and do that with us.”

This year’s selections include Angels We Have Heard on High, The First Noel and a few new songs, including a few classic pieces. For more information: http://parkcitysingers.org/
