UDOT Considers Noise Wall Near Jeremy at Tuesday Meeting

A noise study information meeting will be held next Tuesday to discuss a possible noise wall being installed  near Jeremy Ranch. The meeting will be held June 13th at 6 pm at Jeremy Ranch Elementary School. UDOT environmental and noise analysis experts will provide information on the study recently completed on I-80 between Jeremy Ranch and Lamb's Canyon. UDOT spokesman Levi Strasser says the results of the noise study will be revealed at the meeting, but they do show that enough noise due to a truck climbing lane that’s being added to I-80 this year will create enough noise in some specific areas to warrant a noise wall being built.

He says that noise wall could be built from the Jeremy Ranch exit on I-80 to Hidden Cove.

A formal presentation will take place from 6 to 6:30 p.m. and project representatives will be available to answer questions in an open house format until 7:30 p.m.

For those homeowners most affected by the noise, he says there is a very specific balloting process, which will also be discussed at Tuesday’s meeting
