Park City History Museum's Dalton Gackle discusses the history of ski resort opening days over the years.

Gackle explains that while delayed openings are not unusual, this year feels particularly late because snowmaking only began last week. He notes that the earliest recorded opening was Oct. 26, 1996, and the latest was Jan. 5, 1977.
