Saalbach recently hosted the 2025 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships.
Kitzsteinhorn is close to the Zell am See-Kaprun area. The ski areas are roughly two hours from Munich and one hour from Salzburg.
Mayrhofen and Hintertux are located in the Zillertal Valley, less than one hour from Innsbruck.
Vail said May 22 it is not purchasing the Austrian resorts, only granting passholders access. Epic Pass holders will have five days at each location.
Vail also offers access to Austrian resort Ski Arlberg.
In 2022 and 2023, it purchased two Swiss resorts: Crans-Montana Mountain Resort and Andermatt-Sedrun.
