The Mountain Life - October 8, 2014

Hosts Lynn Ware Peek and Tim Henney speak with local photographer and filmmaker Lori Adamski-Peek about her new project - a documentary called Down the Fence, which profiles reined cow horse trainers on their way to a national competition.

Then they speak with William Alexander - who at age 57 - was inspired to learn French by total immersion.  He wanted to BE French, but settled for devoting a few years of his life to the study.  He survived and has written a book called, "Flirting With French," and he joins us to talk about his experiences.

They also have a conversation with doctors Alona Pulde and Matthew Lederman who were featured in the documentary, Fork over Knives - It's the world of a plant based diet and they join us to discuss the dietary plan to follow.

Lynn Ware Peek is a long-time contributor to KPCW. She joined the station in 2008 with Tales from the Wasatch Back, was a reporter from 2012 to 2016, and co-hosts and produces two of KPCW’s Public Affairs Hour shows, The Mountain Life, on health and lifestyle, on Wednesdays and Cool Science Radio, tackling science and technology every Thursday.
Co-host of The Mountain Life.
