Cool Science Radio - December 10, 2015

In the first segment of the program, John and Lynn interview Dr. Cynthia Burrows.  University of Utah chemists devised a new way to detect chemical damage to DNA that sometimes leads to genetic mutations responsible for many diseases, including various cancers and neurological disorders.  In the second segment, Malcolm Gay, author of, The Brain Electric: The Dramatic High-Tech Race to Merge Minds and Machines.  On the cusp of decoding brain signals that govern motor skills, scientists are developing miraculous technologies that will enable paraplegics and wounded soldiers to move prosthetic limbs and will give all of us the power to manipulate computers and other objects through thought alone.
