Arizona and Hawaii are the only states that don’t follow the biannual daylight saving switch.

Daylight saving time begins Sunday, March 9, when clocks will spring forward an hour at 2 a.m.

The American Red Cross advises when you turn your clocks forward to also test your smoke alarms.

To make sure smoke detectors work, change the batteries and replace any alarms that are more than 10 years old.

The Red Cross says smoke alarms are critical in providing early warnings in the event of home fires, which claimed more than 2,600 lives across the U.S. last year.
