Almost all Wasatch Back towns will elect a new mayor this year. Many cities will vote in councilmembers as well.

Residents have until June 6 to file to run in the 2025 Municipal Election.

Candidates must have lived in the town for 12 consecutive months and be a registered voter there.

Park City, Kamas, Oakley, Coalville and Francis each have two open at-large council seats. Henefer has three. All six Summit County towns will elect mayors this year.

The filing period for municipal candidates is June 2 to June 6.

Summit County will fill board seats in three water and fire special districts.

That includes three board seats for Service Area #3, the water provider for Silver Creek Estates. There are two open board seats, one Park City and one Snyderville Basin seat, for the Snyderville Basin Water Reclamation District and one open fire board commission seat with the South Summit Fire District.

The filing period for special district candidates is June 2 to June 9.

In Wasatch County, all towns except Wallsburg have mayoral elections in November.

Heber, Midway, Hideout and Charleston each have two open council seats while Daniel and Wallsburg will vote in three councilmembers.

If needed, there will be a primary election Aug. 12, followed by 2025 municipal elections on Nov. 4.
