Jeremy Ranch Round Abouts

Summit County

The Jeremy Interchange Roundabout project is starting up in earnest. Summit County Manager Tom Fisher said it’s important for local drivers to stay informed, either by going to the county’s project website, or signing up to get emails.

Fisher told KPCW that the first big disruption on the project will start on Wednesday.

As we’ve reported, the Summit County Council had to cope with the news that the low bid for their Jeremy/Pinebrook Roundabout project came in 24 percent over their budget.

The council decided this week to go forward with the project this year. Council Chairman Roger Armstrong said the budget news wasn’t the end of the world, but it was irritating.

Armstrong told KPCW that several factors went into the overage reported to the Council on Wednesday. The bidding process started late, since the county was held up by some right-of-way acquisition problems.

The Summit County Council got some bad news Wednesday, from an item that was added to their agenda just the day before.

Summit County

The Park City School District and Summit County have agreed on a project to restore the Jeremy Ranch wetlands and build a multiuse pathway from Homestead Rd to the elementary school. It’s part of the larger I-80/Jeremy Ranch interchange round about project scheduled to start this spring.

Now that the $10.6 million-dollar interchange project is about to commence, the school district, Summit County and Basin Recreation plan to work together to restore the wetlands and build a safer pathway for students to walk and bike to school.
