The Morning Mix

On today's program John and Dave visit with Tara Forman from Operation Underground Railroad and Becky Fuys from Rocky Mountain Outfitters, Sleepy Hollow Wagon Rides.  Plus,  they present news of weekend events.

The in-studio musical guest was "you gotta see this to believe it", double-neck-guitar-virtuoso Terence Hansen. Randi Jo Taurel filled in the details and motivation for creating the  'Autumn Grounding and Goat Yoga' gathering and Richard Boulton, an actor in the Timpanogas Valley Theater's production of 'Lend Me A Tenor', gave details about  their current production.

 

Today on The Morning Mix, local musician Jody Whitesides  performs his latest single just realeased last week; a conversation with local children's book author Katie Mullally about self-publishing and self-promoting her trio of books, and Executive Director of Habitat for Humainty, Shellie Barrus and Board Member Whitney Ryan are in to talk about the upcoming Habitat For Humanity's Overall Ball at Park City Mountain Resort. On The Morning Mix the instudio musical guest is Morgan Thomas, and there are plenty of details on weekend events in our area including  conversations with Joshua Wartena of Sundance Mountian Resort and with Meisha Ross of Park City's Autumn Aloft. 

On today's The Morning Mix,  local musical guests, The Backyard Revival, perform in-studio throughout the hour. Interview guests  include singer, songwriter, activist, and legendary folk performer Peter Yarrow who is performing at Egyptian Theatre August 31 thru September 3, and also 2018 American Idol Finalist Gabby Barrett, who is on tour with 'American Idol Live!', a show stopping at the DeJoria Center in Kamas on August 31.

In-studio musical guest Park City's own Motherlode Canyon Band, promoting their 25th anniversary celebration taking place in City Park next Tuesday. Also interviews with actors from Timpanogas Valley Theatre Company presenting Shakespeare's "As You Like It", and members of the 70's hit-making band, Ambrosia,  performing at EgyptianTheatre.

On The Morning Mix, John and Christie's in-studio musical guest is Shannon Runyon.  They interview Fuzz Feddersen of Flying Ace All-Star show and Joey Traum of Reggae Rise Up Festival.   On the  Morning Mix this week,  the in-studio musical guest is Salt Lake City-native, Brooke Mackintosh. Other guests include Jeffrey Howrey (aka...Dr Bob) and Greg Freeman talking about the Dr Bob Reunion show this weekend. Also a call with Charley Freshman of the Canonneers of the Wasatch, who perform an integral part of the Utah Symphony's performance of Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture, taking place at Deer Valley's Outdoor Amphitheatre Friday night.     

Today's Morning Mix program talks about the entertainment options to explore this weekend including Park City's Arts Festival, the Wasatch County Fair, the Summit County Fair, and a plethora of outdoor and indoor concerts. Giving us highlights on a few of these events in studio is Dallin Koecher of the Heber Valley Chamber of Commerce. Live musical guests Elizabeth Hareza and Aaron English, and an interview with Katelyn Shook of Shook Twins.

This week The Morning Mix is taking their show on the road!  JW and Christie broadcast live from Abravenel Hall in downtown Salt Lake City with the Utah Symphony as their live musical guest. They also speak with singer, musician, and author  Rick Springfield, who's performing with the Symphony Friday night in Park City at the Deer Valley Music Festival. Additional interview guests include Toby Tolokan- Vice President of Artistic Planning, Leslie Petersen- Vice President of Development, and Paula Fowler- Director of Education and Community Outreach. 

On The Morning Mix, Robyn Cage is performing live in the studio throughout the program. Also, Ellie Gallagher is in to promote her show PC Girl Cabaret, happening Friday night at Downstairs.  Juliann Fritz, Board Member of Park City Summit County Arts Council and Graham Reynolds offer details on this weekend's Summit County Arts Showcase, and Grayson West and Piper Underbrink talk about events coming up at 350 Main sponsored by Alpine Distilling. All that and a full rundown of music and events happening in our community this weekend.

This Morning’s musical guests, The Brothers Brimm, performed live in studio throughout the program. Also John and Christie visited with Dave Kaufman with the 1033 Foundation about the second annual Utah 1033 Ride and Benefit Concert  taking place this Sunday. Also, members of the cast of "The Who's Tommy-the Musical", talked about the  opening weekend of the show and its month-long run at Egyptian Theatre. All that and a rundown of Weekend Events on The Morning mix.

On The Morning Mix, Crook and the Bluff are performing in the studio throughout the program, and organizers of the Element 11 Festival, a regional, sanctioned Burning Man event, which takes place in the Utah west desert from July 12th through 15th, are  in to talk about that event coming up and how to get involved. Also members of Park City Improv are in studio to promote the shows they're doing at the Park City Library on select Fridays throughout the summer, including tonight. 

  Friday on The Morning Mix, in-studio musical guests inlcuded The Inevitables, one of the many student performance groups produced by the award winning  'Caleb Chapman's Soundhouse' school in Salt Lake City. Also, conversations with the Director, Caleb Chapman, and with original Yardbirds member, Jim McCarty, who is performing this weekend at Egyptian Theatre.        

This week on The Morning Mix, semi-finalist of the 2018 International Blues Challenge, William G Kidd will be the in-studio musical guest. Also an interview with Susan Tedeschi of Tedeschi Trucks Band - they'll be performing next week at the Eccles Theater in downtown Salt Lake City; and a conversation with  Ryan X of the band Dead Fervor, who will be opening for Skid Row and Vixen tonight at DeJoria Center.
