Wasatch County records 29th COVID-19 death

Wasatch County announced another COVID-19 death today.

The victim was a man between the ages of 65 and 84 who was in the hospital when he passed. His death brings the number of Wasatch County COVID deaths to 29 since the beginning of the pandemic.

Statewide, 26 total virus-related deaths were reported Thursday, bringing the statewide death toll to 3,373.

The number of active cases in Wasatch County as of Monday was 437.

Statewide, the health department reported 4,502 new cases between Friday and Monday, 1,080 of which were school-aged children.

92% of Utah ICU beds were occupied Monday. Out of 480 occupants, 216 were COVID patients.

Wasatch County reports 64% of the eligible population has received at least one COVID vaccine dose, and 57% are fully vaccinated. In Summit County, 97% have received one dose, and 85% are fully vaccinated.

Everyone ages five and up is eligible to be vaccinated.
