Injured Skier's Classmates Send Get Well Message

The Winter Sports School

Students at the Winter Sports School came back to class Monday after a week off.  While they were gone, one of their classmates, Sam Jackenthal, suffered a head injury in Australia.    One of the first things the students did was send a positive message to their friend.   KPCW’s Renai Bodley has the story.

From Team Park City United:

Many members of the Park City Community are interested in resources where they can receive support inthe form of counseling and also where they can provide support to Sam’s family as they navigate the difficult road ahead.

To make a financial contribution to help Sam, his mother, father and sister:

  • A GoFundMe page has been set up to support Sam and his family. http://www.gofundme.com/samjackenthal
  • A bank account at Zions bank is being set up and this post will be updated when that is complete.

Counseling resources – Valley Behavioral Health has School-Based Mental Health Services:

  • Leslie Czerwinski coordinates this through Valley Behavioral Health – (203)444-3372
  • Samantha Walsh, M.S.W. Intervention Counseloris a PCHS-based resource – Email: swalsh@pcschools.us  (435) 645-5657 x2026
  • Winter Sports School – Valley Behavioral Health will hold hours at the school all day on Monday, September 14.

Events and Community: Please check TPCU’s blog and facebook page for updates on events upcoming.
