UDOT Says Data Justifies Sound Wall

UDOT Image Of Wildlife Crossing

The Utah Department of Transportation has started preliminary work on a westbound truck-climbing lane on Interstate Highway 80 at Jeremy Ranch. The project includes fencing and a wildlife crossing at the top of Parley’s Summit, as well as a 17-foot by 3,200-foot noise barrier. Citizens Against the Wall claims, however, that the wall violates UDOT's own policies and has asked the governor’s office to investigates, as Carolyn Murray reports.  Noise Wall renderings can be seen here.
