pcsd

The Park City High School Student Council is taking homecoming week to another level of community engagement this year. They’ve got a unique event planned to bring students, staff, administration and all of Park City together to be part of the week- long festivities.

Homecoming includes a weeks-worth of activities that starts with Tuesday’s powder puff football game. Junior Girls stack up against the Senior Girls on Dozier field at 7 pm.

Student Council President Shasid Villaneuva, also part of the Cheerleading Team gives details about the homecoming parade scheduled for Wednesday at 5:45.

“We will start at the top of Main Street and we will end at the bottom of Town Lift. We want to promote school spirit for the whole community. And, you might be wondering who’s participating. So, band, football, the cheer team, student council, dance company and a bit of administration. So, right after the parade, we will be heading over to the high school to watch Powder Buff, which is volleyball. And we will be starting at 7 PM in the high school gym."

Park City High School Senior Class President, Noah Nasser has details on an event that offers students the chance to express themselves.

“On Thursday we begin our car smash and bonfire. Car smash begins at 5:30 and our bonfire begins at 7 to 7:30, depending on when it gets real dark out. We accept a donation from PC Tow where they bring us an old car from an old wreck. We have our students and literally anyone from the community, go ahead and have a wack at it. Get all that anger out. We spray paint it the same school colors of whatever team we are playing on Friday and it’s just a great fun.”

Friday is the pep rally, tailgate and football game against Stansbury. Everyone is welcome to the Tailgate party which begins at 5 in the parking lot with the football game starting at 7. They’ve got free food from Corner Pizza along with face painting to help get the community spirited up. They’ll be crowning the homecoming royalty at the football game.

“We’re going to be doing an official announce for the students at the pep rally. But., the whole community will be open to see who our duke and duchess, prince and princess and king and queen are.”

The community is invited to share in the events of homecoming week. Go to pcschools.us for details.
