Deer Valley Senior's Season Pass Prices to Increase Significantly for 2021/22 Winter

Deer Valley season pass prices are increasing next season. Most notable is the Senior Citizen's pass, which is increasing in price by 71% from last year.

Deer Valley President and CEO Jeremy Levitt said in his keynote at the annual Park City Leadership lecture on Monday that he consulted peer organizations about the senior pass program.

“We did not make this decision lightly, and a lot of discussion and research went into the change,” he said at the event, which was hosted by Myles Rademan and also included Alterra Mountain Company CEO Rusty Gregory. “The reality is that the standard industry rebate for senior pass holders is 20 to 25 percent off whatever the adult season pass rate is, and I know it's tough to hear. Still, the new price fairly reflects the value of a seven-day pass, unrestricted access, and many resorts have entirely done away with their senior pass products, forcing them to buy the adult pass. Instead of doing away with the pass, we decided to bring the senior price in line with our competitive set."

Levitt said they decided to make the leap all in one year rather than incrementally.

"From my peers at other resorts who have made changes similar, they said better to do it all in one year and then to have significant increases each year compounding,” he said. “Whether that was the right place or not, that is yet to be seen. … we decided what we decided, and we're sticking to it."

The price will go up by $760.00 for senior citizens buying a season pass. It now costs $1,910 before October and $2,220 if purchased afterward. Last year, an early senior's pass cost $1,150 then increased to $1,300.00 if purchased after October.

Meanwhile, early-bird rates for adult passes are $2,550. If you wait until October, it increases to $2,960.

Season pass holders gain the benefits of the IKON pass or IKON Pass add-ons as well. Pass holders have access to Deer Valley restaurant and retail discounts, friends and family discounted lift tickets, summer season access, and the Wasatch Benefit program.
