Wasatch County moved to full fire restrictions this week, bringing stricter bans on top of what was already in effect.
Wasatch and Sanpete Counties were the first to move to the Stage 2 restrictions, the highest level in Utah.
The new restrictions outlaw building fires at homes and in campsites, including grills that burn coal and wood.
Open fires, smoking in areas near dry vegetation, using fireworks, and cutting, welding and grinding metal are still outlawed for the summer.
It is also prohibited to operate a motorcycle, chainsaw, ATV or other small combustion engines without a spark arrestor handy.
