Renai Bodley
KPCW General ManagerA broadcast and journalism professional for more than 30 years, Renai has been the President & General Manager of KPCW Radio since 2017. During her tenure she has expanded KPCW's staff by 25%, launched the station's daily newsletter "The Local," and grew KPCW's digital audience more than 800%. Renai has also increased KPCW's membership by more than 300%.
Renai started her career as a television newscast producer in Roanoke, Virginia. She worked in Richmond, VA, Washington, DC and Miami, FL. She returned to Washington to develop and produce a new, two-hour newscast called “The Rush Hour Report,” focusing on news in Virginia, Maryland and DC for NewsChannel 8, the Allbritton-owned local cable channel. In 1996, Renai moved to Salt Lake City, UT to be the Executive Producer at KSTU Fox 13. In 1999, she was promoted to Vice President/News Director. Under Renai’s tenure, Fox 13 expanded its news coverage from 2.5 hours to 10 hours of news a day. She retired in July, 2015, to enjoy her new home in Park City; but she couldn’t stay out of a newsroom for long. In August she signed on with local public radio station KPCW as a reporter. In June, 2017, Renai was promoted to President, General Manager of KPCW.
Renai is a member of the Society of Professional Journalists, Investigative Reporters and Editors, and the Radio Television Digital News Association. She grew up in Virginia and graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in English Language and Literature. She was an inaugural fellow of the Carole Kneeland Project for Responsible Journalism (1998) and has been invited back several times as a speaker and attendee. Renai has a passion for politics and was a founding board member of the Utah Debate Commission.
