After a year of social distancing, ski reservations and sack lunches, Vail Resorts is planning to bring even more people to its resorts, announcing Wednesday morning that, effective immediately, it is reducing the prices for all passes next winter by 20% with the “Epic for Everyone” program.
In addition, the company is launching its new version of Epic Day passes, starting at $67 for a single-day pass. The Epic Mountain Rewards program will continue to offer pass holders 20% off their dining, lodging, lessons, and rentals.
The price reduction applies to the entire portfolio of the company’s North American pass lineup, including Park City Mountain Resort.
In a press release, Vail Resorts CEO Rob Katz said because of the growth and loyalty of their pass holders navigating its most challenging season ever, the company had a successful year at its 34 North American resorts.
“As we double down on our pass strategy by dramatically reducing our pass prices, we are excited to make it easier for everyone to move into a pass, and we remain fully committed to ensuring continuous improvements in the guest experience,” Katz said.
The Epic Local Pass is now available for $583, down from $729 for the current season, and the full Epic Pass is priced at $783, down from $979. This reset takes these products back to their prices during 2015/16 season.
The announcement is a part of Vail Resorts’ Epic for Everyone initiative, which aims to get more people participating in snowsport. The initiative began in 2019 with the introduction of the Epic Day Pass, intended to provide new and casual skiers with more flexibility.
