How Athletes are Adapting to COVID-19 Restrictions with Programs Like Project Podium

Project Podium

On this episode of The Mountain Life. Dr. Max Testa of Intermountain Healthcare joins the show. He is no stranger to helping athletes, he is credited with the rise of the US professional cycling with his involvement with the US Postal cycling team decades ago. Since then he has guided athletes and athletic teams through maximizing their performance, and still does as he has taken on USA Triathlon athletes along with his team at Intermountain Healthcare and Park City Hospital.  Austin Hindman also joins the conversation. Hindman is an elite triathlete who competes on the international stage with a gold medal in international junior competition and many top podium finishes to his credit. For young U.S. triathletes with goals to compete in future Olympic Games, the COVID-19 pandemic has forced them to adapt their training, and that’s why they have come to Park City - a locale that often hosts elite athletes who come to train at altitude, amidst world class training facilities and expertise. One such adapted program,Project Podium, is the main topic of discussion in this show.

Pete Stoughton is the Brand Relations Manager at Trail and Ultra Running as well as the Director of Programs at CCPC. Basically, he is the behind the scenes guy at TAUR. When he's not getting his TAUR on, or running 2-3,000 miles a year. His own personal running ranges from 100 mile races to track workouts. Nevertheless, a scenic run with friends is were he finds inner peace.
