Wasatch Back snow could be at risk of early melt off

Utah snow survey supervisor Jordan Clayton
Utah snow survey supervisor Jordan Clayton

Utah snow survey supervisor Jordan Clayton shares details on the Wasatch Back snow year and what it could mean for our fire season.

The Wasatch Back is at 79% of normal, with some areas above normal however, high snow densities could indicate early melt potential.

Soil moisture levels in the East Canyon watershed are low, affecting runoff efficiency. Despite these challenges, reservoirs are at or above normal levels.
