Utah Senator Proposes Statewide Fee For Single-Use Plastic & Paper Bags

**Update:  The bill passed Senate committee Thursday evening and will go to the Senate floor for a vote next week.

A Utah state senator has proposed a new law that will make retailers charge ten cents for every single-use plastic and paper bag.  Environmentalists haven't had success passing similar laws in Park City, so why does this lawmaker think she can pass her bill at a statewide level?  KPCW's Renai Bodley has the story:
