Semi-Truck Driver Leads Law Enforcement On A Chase

Summit County Sheriff's Office

Summit County sheriff’s officers were involved in a chase on Saturday afternoon when a semi-truck driver took off after being pulled over.

According to reports to the Summit County Sheriff’s department, a semi-truck driven by 41-year-old Dustin Cullom of California was driving recklessly and running cars off the road. Summit County Sheriff’s Office received five phone calls before officers were able to locate and pull over Cullom on old ranch road near highland drive.

As the sheriff’s deputy got out of his vehicle to approach the semi, Cullom drove off. The semi-truck traveled about five miles on I-80 Westbound before officers were able to pull Cullom over and place him under arrest.

Cullom was charged with two 3rd degree Felony’s Failure To Stop Or Respond At Command Of Police and Aggravated Assault. He was also charged with Reckless Endangerment, and Reckless Driving.
